Getting older offers opportunities we could never have without the experience and changing perspectives that come with age, but to live well in our later years we’ve got to embrace life and appreciate the richness it offers. Aging is not a goal, it’s a process, says psychologist and retirement coach Dr. Mary Flett. How do you want to feel as you get older? What do you want to do? What makes an ideal day? Deciding how you want to show up for your family, your community, and yourself in the later years is an important part of living well. Start with a conversation. Begin collaborating with people of different ages about what they want their aging process to look like. And begin to answer that question for yourself so you can create the life experience you want no matter your age.
