What Happens When We Pause for Wonder?
Consultant, teacher, and author of Tracking Wonder, Jeffrey Davis says curiosity, innovation, and wonder will not only lead to more joy and satisfaction but also help us through adversity, raise the level of our productivity and creativity, and help us flourish and it all starts with a mindful pause.
Wonder, Davis says, is the ability and willingness to “heightened state of awareness. Instant mindfulness is brought about by something unexpected that either delights us, disorients us, or both. “
Jeffrey Davis explains how we can track wonder by defining and detecting the downer pattern, opening up to the world, and feeling the patterns that hold us back, keeping us from curiosity and wonder, then seeking out wonder and expanding into it. When we do, we can recognize the elevating moments, the higher experience we also experience in life and that, changes how we think, behave, and create.
