Awareness and action can help end racism and empower our community and all of its people

“If you are wearing shoes that are comfortable you don’t have to think about them you can go about your day. If you wear a pair of shoes that hurt all the time then everything you do is filtered by pain. For people of color, this is how racism pervades everything. It’s a never-ending consciousness of your blackness,” says author and educator M.J. Fievre.

Becoming aware and getting educated about the systems and microaggressions that marginalize and oppress people of color can help us take the actions we need to end racism and elevate us all. We must do this if we truly want all people to live well, do good, be happy.
